Evan Murphy

As a Family Office Advisor at The Family Office at Synovus, Evan Murphy advises multi-generational families and single family offices. He is responsible for helping clients identify, implement, and achieve their long-term goals through comprehensive estate planning, investment management, risk solutions, philanthropy, and family education. Evan is a key member of the family office team, interacting with and integrating the specialized disciplines of internal and external partners to provide ongoing strategic advice and solutions that meet clients’ short-term needs and long-term objectives.

Evan has extensive experience in the financial services industry with a focus on family office services, wealth management, and investments. Before joining The Family Office at Synovus in 2023, Evan served as Director of Investments and Trading at an Atlanta-based RIA. Prior to that, he was the Family Office Director at a single family office located in the US and Europe. He began his career as a commodities trader at a private, proprietary firm.

Originally from Ireland, Evan earned a Master of Business Studies from the Smurfit School of Business, University College Dublin and a Bachelor of Commerce, Economics and Accounting, from University of Galway (formerly National University of Ireland, Galway). He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA), and holds Series 65 and 3 licenses. Evan also serves as a board member of Atlanta Classical Academy, a public charter school open to students within the Atlanta Public Schools district.

Evan lives with his family in Atlanta, Georgia. Outside of business hours, you can find him cheering on his children at soccer games or taking in a round of golf in his spare time.
