Andrea Parker is a Senior Portfolio Manager for The Family Office at Synovus, managing approximately $750 million in fixed income assets. Andrea oversees the overall strategy for credit, interest rate risk and duration. Within alternative investments, she leads the management of The Family Office’s Absolute Return Hedge Fund, focusing on manager diligence, strategy and fund allocation. Additionally, she manages the firm’s Women’s Hedge Fund, developed for women investors, focusing on equity, fixed-income, alternative (venture and coinvest) opportunities.
A frequent speaker within the investment industry, Andrea shares her expertise and institutional knowledge in both alternative and fixed income investing as well as the economy and interest rates. She has over 25 years of investment experience in the financial services industry, including 18 years within the family office and ultra-high-net-worth space. Prior to joining The Family Office in 2006, Andrea spent nine years as a fixed income trader at Synovus Securities, executing both retail and institutional network trades.
Andrea earned a B.S.B.A. in Finance from Xavier University located in Cincinnati, Ohio. She holds the designations of Certified Fixed Income Practitioner (CFIP), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). She has previously held her Series 7, 63, 55 and 65 Securities Licenses.
Andrea is a member of The Family Office Alternative and Strategy Investment Committees as well as the Fixed Income Committee for the Synovus Trust Company. She is also a member of the Southern Municipal Finance Society as well as the Chartered Alternative Society of Atlanta. In 2020, Andrea was a Kayo/CAIA Chartered Alternative Investment Analysts Scholarship recipient. In addition, she was named to the Family Wealth Report Award’s 2022 and 2023 shortlist for recognition in Women in Wealth Advisory - Investments.
Within the community, Andrea has served on the Board of Directors for Trees Columbus and as a literacy volunteer for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley.
